Taking SAT Practice Tests
There are two reasons why you should take as many SAT practice tests as you can:
- to get a feel for the SAT test and most importantly,
- to learn from your mistakes.
Getting a Feel for the SAT Test
By taking SAT practice tests like they were the real thing, you will get a feel for how long you should spend on each question and what to expect on test day.
Timing on the SAT is especially important because you want to make sure that you get a chance to attempt all questions. While practicting, try to get your timing down so that you don't end up with ten blanks at the end of a section.
Learning from Your Mistakes
This is the most important part of taking SAT practice tests. Learn from your mistakes!
After you complete an SAT practice test, correct it, and figure out why you answered questions incorrectly. Did you make careless mistakes or did you not know how to do the questions? If you're making careless mistakes then you know you need to be more careful. If you don't know how to do certain types of questions, figure out how or ask someone for help.
The more mistakes you learn from while taking SAT practice tests, the less mistakes you will make on test day.
