Starting Summer SAT Study Plan

Thursday, June 1, 2006

Summer is finally here. The sun is out, the weather is warm, and there's nothing you have to do but watch every summer movie and kick your feet up and relax. Wait, there's one more thing. SAT prep! I know, I know, you can stop grumbling about it now. If you plan and stick to an SAT summer plan , SAT prep doesn't have to take over your entire break.

The Plan

Saying that you'll prepare isn't enough. You have to actually write out a plan (in detail). If you don't put your plan on paper, it's too likely that you'll go through the entire summer saying you'll prepare, but never actually get to it. PUT YOUR SAT STUDY PLAN ON PAPER. Decide what you will study, how you will study it, where you are going to go to prepare.

Say you have three months of vacation time. You can probably study 1-2 hours a day, or maybe you don't want to study every day? Try planning to study every Tuesday and Thursday. You know yourself best, so just do what works best for you. Just make sure you get that study time in between the movies and out-of-town trips.

In the end, it all comes down to self-discipline. That's really all SAT prep courses and tutors are for. They keep you in check when you don't feel like studying. Sure, they also tell you what to study, but you can find all of that in an SAT book and here on StudyBeans with the SAT Study Guide and the study archive .

So what're you waiting for. Write out that summer SAT study plan, and here's to a fun summer with some SAT prep wedged between.

Until next time, let the StudyBeans grow!
