Don't Make Careless Mistakes!
Don't make careless mistakes on the SAT! Don't make careless mistakes on the SAT! No matter how many times I say it, if you can believe it, students still make careless mistakes on the SAT.
Careless Mistakes on the SAT Hurt
Sure, one careless mistake seems small, but what happens when you make a second mistake? A third? It adds up fast. In general, just assume for every careless mistake, you've lost 10 points instead of gaining 10 points by just being more careful. That's a 20 point swing. That's a lot of points, so you have to stay focused on the SAT.
Treat Every SAT Question Equally
All questions are created equally. The hard SAT questions are worth the same amount of points as the easy ones, and vice versa. So when you come across an "easy" question (usually at the beginning of a section), don't take it lightly. Did you remember the negative sign? Did you add correctly? Is that word a synonym or an antonym? Be very careful.
The same thinking goes for hard questions. Don't get stuck and end up wasting a bunch of time on the SAT. If you don't know how to do a question, mark it, skip it, and come back to it later. If you do skip a question, be extra careful to mark your answer sheet correctly. Otherwise, things will get messy and you really don't want to clean that mess up.
SO...What do you need to remember to do??
Don't make careless mistakes on the SAT! No matter how many times...
Prove me wrong.
Happy preparing.
