Top Three GRE Prep Books
If you're planning on studying for the GRE on your own, then make sure you study with the best GRE test preparation books available. We rank the top five.
1. Practicing to Take the GRE from ETS
Practicing to Take the GRE from ETS is definitely a must-have. This book contains seven real (past) GRE tests which make for excellent practice. Practicing also provides general GRE information as well as useful test strategies. (NOTE: This book's predecessor, GRE Big Book, is actually even better with a whopping 27 GRE (real) practice tests. Unfortunately, it's no longer in print, but if you can get a hold of an old copy, use it wisely!).
2. GRE Exam 2006 from Kaplan
Yes, we know it's not 2006 yet, but hey, there's only a month and a half left of 2005. Kaplan has always provided excellent test-taking advice and in their newest GRE test prep book, a higher score is still guaranteed. The 2006 GRE book contains 6 practice tests, practice questions, and additional online resources.
3. How to Prepare for the GRE from Barron's
Barron's is another test preparation company that has consistently provided students with worth while test advice. In addition to the 6 practice tests, practice questions, and strategies, this book also supplies students with the ever so popular 3500-word vocabulary list.
